That’s why Record Bin use a mutualism model which is additive rather than extractive, choosing solidarity instead of silos to build an artist-owned media collective that provides unparalleled support for our creatives and incredible value for our supporters.
When it comes to actually doing our jobs, we believe that quality work comes from people who aren't running on empty. Dignity isn't a value we talk about; it's a policy we live by. We offer a 30-hour week, generous PTO, and real benefits for our employee-owners. Because the collective's creatives are, themselves, employees, they also get salaries, health insurance, retirement plans, and more. Each artist is paid the same – no matter their status outside the Social Club – so each subscription supports every single member of the collective.
At our core, KMX Media LLC is committed to:
- operating with transparent, anti-oppression, human-first, cooperation-based policies;
- embracing diversity by building scalable equity for and ensuring majority inclusion of marginalized identity artists and women;
- donating 10% of annual net profits to charities supporting musicians' lives and music education;
- and incorporating an Employee-Ownership Trust model.
