I thought Record Bin Radio was a show on Apple Music. What is going on here?

You aren't wrong, friend. It was, indeed, a show on Apple Music... which ended in August of 2024. What's going here is that it's now a whole dang radio station that plays an eclectic mix of rock, rhythm, and roots music. We still hold the Etta James quote - “I wanna show that gospel, country, blues, rhythm and blues, jazz, rock & roll are all just really one thing.” - as our North Star. We just also throw in a little hip-hop and world beat, too, and we think Etta would be okay with that... especially since we do it with no ads, AI, oligarchs, or algorithms.

What the h*ck is the Record Bin Social Club?

Think of it as one part SOCIAL media, one part fan CLUB for a curated group of creatives. Being believers in collectives and co-ops, we invited a bunch of musician and writer friends to link arms in solidarity so that we all might thrive and prosper... together. That way, subscribers get an incredible bang for their buck and the contributors get to jointly own a media collective that gives them salaries, health insurance, retirement plans, and more - generally unattainable assets for independent contractors.

What exactly IS the bang I get for my buck?

For 15 bucks (or more), your bang includes access to Record Bin Radio's 24/7 live stream, on-demand episodes, and blog PLUS access to all of the content and events offered up by the collective of creatives that form the Social Club. (The finer print for what each subscription level offers can be found on our pricing page.)

Tell me more about the whole "artist-owned" thing.

Absolutely! We're very proud of and excited about that bit. Our umbrella company - KMX Media LLC - incorporates an Employee Ownership Trust model which means that every team and collective member is also an owner of the company receiving everything that goes with being an employee, but also getting annual dividends and a voice in company governance. (There are a few more specifics on our mission page.)

Is there a mobile app I can download?

Not exactly. But the site has a PWA function built in. So just hop over to this page, follow the simple instructions, and you'll be ready to Record Bin.
